Navigation and keyboard shortcuts
Every page shares one frame: a rail of areas, a strip of steps and a search you open with Ctrl K or ⌘ K. Keyboard chords (g, then a letter) jump to any area.

Every signed-in page shares one frame. A rail down the left lists the areas of your project, a strip across the top lists the steps of the area you are in, and on a phone a bar along the bottom takes the rail's place. Search, "Ask Spot", the theme toggle and your account menu sit at the strip's right end.
Use this page to learn where each area lives, which keys jump between them, and how to search, switch project and get back to the dashboard.
The rail
The rail is the column down the left of every page on a tablet or computer.
- At the top: the sourcesignal.ai mark, which leads to the dashboard, the account switcher (only when you can reach more than one account) and the project switcher.
- The areas, in three groups: Autopilot, then Outreach, Content and Reports, then Prompts, Keywords, Competitors and Settings. The tinted pill is where you are.
- Autopilot counts the decisions waiting in today's deck. Outreach shows a count too, and a dot while a reply is waiting on you. Past 99 a count reads "99+".
- In the expanded rail, the chevron at an area's right end ("Show Outreach steps") lists its steps under it.
- At the foot: Spot and a status line saying what the autopilot is working on, or "All quiet". "Engine room" opens the room where everything the autopilot does is logged (see The engine room and pipeline), and "Ask Spot" opens the Spot panel.
- "Collapse" shrinks the rail to icons, with each name on a hover tip.
The rail starts collapsed on medium screens and expanded on wide ones. Once you choose, your choice wins in this browser.
Areas and their steps
Click an area to open its first step. The strip across the top shows the same steps as pills, the current one tinted. On a narrow screen the strip scrolls sideways.
| Area | Steps, in order |
|---|---|
| Autopilot | Today’s deck, Rules, Engine room (opens a dialog) |
| Outreach | Opportunities, Sequences, Inbox, Outcomes, then Tracker and Calendar |
| Content | Gaps, Articles, then Improvements and Technical |
| Reports | Overview, Impact timeline, Topics, Competitors, Traffic & search, Outcomes |
| Prompts | Prompts |
| Keywords | Keywords |
| Competitors | Roster, Visibility, Mentions & citations |
| Settings | Project, Data, Pipeline, then Members, Mailboxes, Agents, Billing |
- The arrows between the first four Outreach steps trace pitch, reply and win. They are not buttons.
- The Inbox step carries a chip with the replies waiting on you.
- The Reports steps are the report's tabs, and they keep its filters as you move between them.
- Members, Mailboxes, Agents and Billing are organization settings. Agents appears when you can hold an agent token.
- The Content area appears where the content plan is available.
On a phone
On a phone, a bar along the bottom edge replaces the rail.
- Spot sits in the first cell. On a project's pages, tap it to open the Engine room.
- The next cells are the first five areas. "More" opens a menu with the rest.
- A dot marks Autopilot while decisions wait, and Outreach while a reply waits on you.
- The project switcher opens the top row, and the steps take a line of their own under it.
Keyboard shortcuts
Navigation shortcuts are chords: press g on its own ("go to"), then the letter. Press ? on any page to see the list.
| Keys | What it does |
|---|---|
| Ctrl K or ⌘ K | Open search and quick actions |
| g then h | Go to dashboard |
| g then a | Go to autopilot |
| g then o | Go to opportunities |
| g then u | Go to outreach (Sequences) |
| g then t | Go to tracker |
| g then n | Go to inbox |
| g then r | Go to reports |
| g then w | Go to outcomes |
| g then s | Go to project settings |
| g then p | Go to prompts |
| g then k | Go to keywords |
| g then c | Go to competitors |
| g then d | Go to data |
| g then i | Go to pipeline |
| g then l | Go to content plan |
| g then g | Go to guide |
| g then q | Ask Spot |
| n | New (context-aware) |
| ? | Show the shortcuts |
- Press the letter right after g.
- Chords do nothing while you type in a field, while a dialog or menu is open, or while you hold Ctrl, Cmd or Alt. Press Escape first.
- Outside a project, chords open your current project's pages. With no project yet, only g then h and g then q go anywhere.
- n puts the cursor in a page's side form, where the page has one.
- g then l works only where the content plan is available.
Keys on other screens
Some screens add letter keys of their own. On the deck, the key right after g always belongs to the chord, so the two never clash. Chords are off during a review pass, which is a dialog.
- The deck: A or Enter runs the card's main action, S skips most cards until later today, X is the card's "no". Every button prints its key. See The deck.
- Review by hand on Opportunities: A approve, R reject, L live already, M maybe, Shift + A approve and promote, Enter open the page, ← back. See Statuses and the review gate.
- The Spot panel: Enter sends, Shift + Enter adds a line, Escape closes the docked panel. See Spot, the in-app agent.
Search and quick actions
One dialog searches your work and runs commands.
- Press Ctrl K (⌘ K on a Mac) or click "Search".
- Type two or more characters. Results group as Opportunities, Prompts, Keywords, Competitors and Projects, up to six each, best match first.
- Press Enter to open the highlighted hit, or pick another with the arrow keys.
- Press Escape to close. The dialog opens blank next time.
Inside a project, search reads that project plus all your projects by name. Outside a project, such as on the dashboard, it reads every active project in the account. The dialog's footer says which.
Below the results sit the commands, narrowed by whatever you type:
- Navigate: a "Go to" line for every destination, with its chord. Typing "sequences" finds the Outreach line.
- Create: "Add a prompt", "Add a keyword", "Add a competitor" and "Run an import" open the page where you do it.
- Account: "Sign out".
- Ask: "Ask Spot: “your words”" sends what you typed to Spot as a question. When nothing matches, or your words end with a question mark, this row comes first and Enter asks Spot.
Switch project or account
- Click the project name in the rail, or at the left of the top row on a phone. Its hover tip adds the industry and primary market.
- Pick a project from the "Projects" menu. You land on its Autopilot console, and it becomes your current project.
- Or choose "New project", or "Manage projects…" for the full list.
If you can reach more than one account, the account switcher sits above the project switcher. Pick an account and the whole app refreshes on it. See Organization settings.
The dashboard
The dashboard is the "Projects" page you land on after signing in. The sourcesignal.ai mark, g then h and "Back to the dashboard" all lead here.
- With two or more active projects, you see one card per project, oldest first.
- With exactly one, the dashboard opens it directly. "Manage projects…" in the switcher still shows the list.
- With none, you go straight to creating one.
Each card offers "Open" and "Settings", and every card but the current one offers "Set as current". The "Current" pill marks the project the app opens by default. "Continue setup" appears on a project whose setup you have not finished. Archived projects wait under "Archived · N", where an admin or owner can press "Restore".
Good to know
- The moon or sun at the strip's right end switches between the light theme (the default) and the dark one.
- Your account circle opens the account menu: your plan and its usage, "Account settings", "Support", "New organization" and "Sign out". See Usage.
- The rail's width, its open step lists, the theme and your current project are kept in this browser.
- A broken link shows "We couldn’t find that page.", with "Back to the dashboard" and "All projects". For the other error screens, see Support.
- "Skip to content", the first link a Tab press reaches, jumps past the rail and the strip.
