Usage
See how much of your plan your workspace has used, what counts against each limit and when each number resets.
Updated October 18, 2026Markdown
Usage is how much of your plan your workspace has used so far. Every count belongs to the workspace, never to one person, and each meter says when it resets or that it does not.
Check it before you add a project or a batch of prompts, before a big round of contact research, or when your plan refuses something.
Where you see it
| Where | What it shows |
|---|---|
| The account menu (your account circle, at the right end of the top strip) | A "Plan" block: your plan's name, "Team seats" and "Tracked prompts", each with a bar, and "Next data update 06:00 UTC" with a countdown |
| Settings, Billing | Every meter on the "Current plan" card, each with its definition and its reset line |
| Settings, Organization | The "Plan & usage" card, with the same rows as the account menu, each with its definition |
| New project | "Projects" and "Tracked prompts", the two limits a new project uses. "Show all limits" opens the rest |
| The setup wizard's plan card | The one limit the current step uses: projects, tracked prompts, AI engines or mailboxes. "Compare plans" opens every plan's limits side by side |
| Spot | Anyone can ask about the plan's limits inside a project. Owners and admins can also ask "Where is usage this month?" from any page outside a project |
Everyone in the workspace sees every number. The plan link reads "Manage plan" for owners and admins and "See plan" for members. Both open Settings, Billing. On Billing and on the "Plan & usage" card, hover or tap the small question mark beside a meter to read what it counts.
What each meter counts
| Meter | What counts | Resets |
|---|---|---|
| Projects | Your active projects. Archived projects and projects your plan paused do not count. | Does not reset |
| Tracked prompts | Your active prompts, pooled across every project. A prompt counts once, however many engines answer it. Removed prompts and prompts in archived or paused projects do not count. | Does not reset |
| Email verifications | One saved contact getting its first verification verdict. | On the 1st of each month |
| Opportunities discovered | New opportunities your data updates found this month. A page you already have does not count again. | On the 1st of each month |
| Team seats | People in the workspace now. Pending invites are not in the number, but they count toward a seat cap when you invite more. | Does not reset |
| Mailboxes | Your connected mailboxes, including ones still connecting or waiting to be re-authorized. | Does not reset |
On Billing and on the "Plan & usage" card, a plan limit reads "Plan limit · does not reset" under its meter. On Billing, a monthly count reads "Resets 1 November". Monthly counts follow the calendar month in UTC.
Opportunities discovered has no limit on any plan, so it shows as a count with no bar. Team seats are unlimited on every paid plan; a trial includes up to 5 (members and pending invites).
Email verifications
This meter counts checks, not good addresses. Each saved contact with an address is checked once, and that check is the unit.
A verification is used when:
- Contact research saves a contact with an address, whether Autopilot researched the page, you pressed "Find contacts" on a selection of opportunities, or you pressed "Research contacts" in one opportunity's contacts.
- You press "Verify email" on a contact in an opportunity's contacts.
- Research reuses the contacts of a publisher it researched recently. Each address copied to the new page is checked again and counts as one.
A verification is not used when:
- You check a contact again after it already has a verdict.
- You type a contact in by hand. It counts only if you then press "Verify email" on it.
When the month's verifications are used, a press that needs one is refused in words such as "Your Growth plan includes 500 email verifications a month (500 used). It resets at the start of next month." Contact research waits too, for Autopilot and for you alike. The deck and Outreach tell an owner or admin, for example, "This month’s email verifications are used. Research picks up again on 1 November, or choose a bigger plan in Billing to research more now."
Pages researched per day
Each project can research a set number of pages a day to find the person to pitch: 40 on Brand, 80 on Growth and on a trial, 120 on Agency. The day starts at 00:00 UTC. The pricing page lists it as "Pages researched per project per day".
This limit has no meter on Billing. You meet it in words:
- When Autopilot's pages wait, the deck and Outreach say "Today’s research allowance is used. Research picks up again at 00:00 UTC."
- When you press "Find contacts" for more pages than today has room for, the refusal says how many still fit, so you choose which go first.
AI usage
AI work, such as Spot's answers, AI drafts and the work Autopilot runs, uses the account's AI allowance. No plan limits that allowance today: the work is counted for the account, not capped, so Settings, Billing shows no meter for it. You can see it in two places:
- Spot's hourly limit. Spot answers 30 questions an hour for each person. Questions your own agent asks Spot over MCP count in the same hour. At the limit, Spot says how many minutes until the next question opens.
- What was spent on a project. Inside a project, ask Spot what was spent. It counts what you and your team pressed and the work that ran in the background, with Autopilot's share apart, over the last 7 days (ask for up to 31). It gives counts, not an allowance, because no plan limits this work today.
An agent you connect over MCP reads the same meters as Settings, Billing. With "Read your projects", which any member can give it, a project's brief carries the plan's limits with what is used, unless the token is limited to named projects. With "Read the account", which only an owner or admin can add, it reads the whole account's usage directly. Its asks to Spot use the AI allowance as yours do. See How the door answers.
When you near or reach a limit
- At 80% of a limit, the bar turns to the warning color. Owners and admins also see one line for the fullest limit, such as "Upgrade: you’re at 80%+ of your tracked prompts", as the account menu's link and above the meters on Billing.
- At a plan limit, the action is refused in words that name the plan and the number, such as "Your Growth plan allows 5 projects. Upgrade to add more." Adding prompts past the pool reads "Your Growth plan tracks 200 prompts across all projects (198 in use). Upgrade or remove some to add 3 more."
- On a trial, mailboxes and seats stop at the trial's own caps: "Trials connect up to 3 mailboxes. Choose a plan to connect more."
- Mailboxes over your plan's count stay connected and still receive replies. The ones connected first keep sending; the others wait and show "Not sending: over your plan’s mailbox limit".
- Already over a limit, for example after a move to a smaller plan, owners and admins see it on Billing ("230 of 200 tracked prompts. Choose what stays.") with the "What stays" button. Nothing is deleted. See Plans and limits.
To make room:
- Archive a project or remove prompts you no longer track. They stop counting toward the limit straight away.
- Wait for the 1st of the month for a monthly count, or 00:00 UTC for research pages.
- Choose a bigger plan in Settings, Billing (an owner or admin does this). See Trial and billing.
- On a monthly paid plan, use the "Add-ons" card on Billing where it offers one. Each unit raises one limit for as long as you keep it.
Good to know
- When a plan limit cannot be counted, its meter is left out and a note says so, such as "Tracked prompts couldn't be counted just now.", rather than showing zero. If the whole block fails, the account menu reads "Couldn't load your plan usage."
- "Next data update 06:00 UTC" is the daily data update, which runs on its own without anyone pressing anything.
- A trial meters against Growth's limits, with its own caps of 3 mailboxes and 5 seats.
- A plan the sourcesignal team manages for you has no limits. Billing reads "Your plan is managed by us. Contact support to change it."
- For how contacts are found and what each verdict means, see Contacts and verification.
