Profile and sign-in

Your profile holds the settings that belong to you, not to a workspace: your name, photo and timezone, the email and password you sign in with, and the devices signed in as you.

Updated October 17, 2026Markdown

The Profile tab in Settings is where you decide how teammates see you, how you sign in and which devices stay signed in. It reads the same whichever workspace is active, so you set it once.

Use it when you join a team and want your name beside your work, when you move to a new email address, after signing in on a shared or lost device, or when a countdown reads an hour off.

Open your profile

  1. Press the circle with the first letter of your email address at the top right of the page. This is the account menu.
  2. Choose "Account settings". Settings opens on the Organization tab.
  3. Choose "Profile", the first tab in the strip.

Your name, photo and company

Your name and photo are what teammates see beside your work: on the members list and anywhere the platform names a person. Your first name is also the one the Autopilot console greets you by ("Morning, Alex."), exactly as you typed it.

The fields start with the name and company you gave at sign-up. If you signed up with Google, the name starts as the one on your Google account. To change them:

  1. Edit "First name", "Last name" or "Company".
  2. Press "Save". It works once something has changed.
  3. The toast names what changed, for example "Name saved", "Company saved" or "Name and company saved".

A few rules apply:

  • Leave both name fields empty to be shown by your email address instead. The toast reads "Name cleared".
  • A last name needs a first name to go with it.
  • Without a photo, your initials are shown.

To add a photo, press "Upload photo" and pick an image: PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF or AVIF, up to 2 MB. The toast reads "Photo updated". With a photo in place the button reads "Replace photo", and "Remove" takes it away. SVG files are refused because they can carry scripts, so export a PNG or JPEG instead.

Change your sign-in email

  1. On the Account card, press "Change email".
  2. Type the "New email address". If your account has a password, type your "Current password" too.
  3. Press "Send confirmation". The toast reads "Check both inboxes to confirm".
  4. Open the confirmation link in each inbox: your current one and the new one.

If the new address is the one you already use, a toast reads "That is already your email address." A wrong password reads "That current password is not right."

Set or change your password

The Password section shows the form your account needs.

  • Your account has a password. Press "Change password", type your "Current password" and a "New password", then press "Change password" again. The current password is always asked for: a signed-in browser on its own is not enough. The toast reads "Password changed".
  • You sign in with single sign-on only. The card names the provider you use, for example "You sign in with Google." Press "Set a password", type a "New password" and press "Set a password" again. This adds email and password as a second way in, and single sign-on keeps working. The toast reads "Password set".

A new password needs at least 10 characters. You stay signed in on the device you used. The password fields are cleared after every attempt, whether it worked or not.

Forgot your current password? Sign out from the account menu, then press "Forgot your password?" on the sign-in page. The reset link signs you in and opens "Choose a new password". It expires after an hour.

Sign out of other devices

  1. On the Sessions card, press "Sign out of all other devices".
  2. In the dialog "Sign out of all other devices?", press "Sign out everywhere else".
  3. The toast reads "Signed out everywhere else".

Every other browser and device signed in as you is signed out at once. Each one needs your password or single sign-on again. The browser you are using stays signed in.

To sign out yourself, open the account menu and choose "Sign out". It also clears any half-typed support message in this browser.

Set your timezone

The Preferences card sets the timezone every schedule and countdown in the platform is explained in. Schedule lines give a time in UTC and then yours, for example "06:00 UTC is 07:00 where you are." Once you choose a zone, the console's greeting (morning, afternoon or evening) follows it too.

  1. Open the "Timezone" picker.
  2. Search with "Search timezones…" or scroll. Your chosen zone sits under "Current" and, when it differs, the zone this device reports sits under "This device", both above "All timezones". Each zone shows its offset beside its name.
  3. Pick a zone. The toast reads "Times shown in" followed by the zone.

The choice is saved on you, so it follows you to every device you sign in from. To go back to each device's own zone, press "Use this device". The toast reads "Following this device's timezone". With no zone chosen, each device uses its own, which is why the same countdown can read differently on your laptop and your phone.

Switch between light and dark

The moon or sun icon at the top right, beside the account menu, switches the theme. Light is the default. The button is labeled "Switch to dark theme" or "Switch to light theme". The choice is remembered in this browser only, so another device keeps its own theme.

Good to know

  • Profile is the one Settings tab about you rather than a workspace. Your name, photo and timezone are the same in every workspace you belong to.
  • The timezone follows you between devices. The theme stays with each browser.
  • Your role, the projects you can reach and your workspace's name are set elsewhere. See Members and roles and Organization settings.
