# Free tools catalog

> Every free tool, grouped by type, with what each one does, what you enter and what you get back. You don't need an account.

sourcesignal documentation, Free tools. Updated 2026-10-18. The page for people: https://www.sourcesignal.ai/docs/free-tools/free-tools-catalog. Every article: https://www.sourcesignal.ai/llms.txt

The free tools directory holds every free tool, and anyone can run them without an account. Each tool does one of three things: it checks a page or your text, it drafts copy, or it takes a live snapshot of search data or AI answers. The evidence and the limits of the result appear on the same screen. Open the directory at [the free tools page](https://www.sourcesignal.ai/tools).

Use a tool when you want a quick read on one page, one draft or one question. To measure how often AI engines name your brand across several questions, run [the free AI visibility report](https://www.sourcesignal.ai/docs/free-tools/the-free-ai-visibility-report.md) instead.

## Find a tool

The directory groups tools into three types: Analysis, AI writing and Live research. The side list filters by category: Search & rankings, Technical SEO, AI writing & content, Keyword research, AI visibility, and Social & YouTube.

- Type in the search box to match a tool's name, description or category.
- Use "Tool type" to show one type. Use "Start with" to show the tools that take a "Website or URL" or the ones that take a "Text or topic".
- Press "New tools" to see the six newest tools. They carry a New badge and appear first in the list.
- Press "Clear filters" or "Show all tools" to see every tool again.

## Run a tool

Every tool page works the same way.

1. Open a tool card.
2. Fill in the fields under "Your input". Required fields carry a *. To fill the fields with sample inputs, press "Try an example".
3. Press the tool's button, for example "Analyze page", "Generate drafts" or "Search live results". It reads "Working…" (or "Checking…") while the tool runs.
4. Read the result. Depending on the tool, it shows a summary, the key numbers, checks with a status and a detail, items (some with a "View source" link), a table, files to download and a "Keep in mind" list. Many checks end with a "Next step:" recommendation.
5. Save the result: "Copy all", "Copy text" on a single item, "Download file", "Export text", "Export JSON", or "Export CSV" when the result has a table. "Reset" clears the form.

Near the end of every result, a line says what was measured and when. Below the result, a tool page can also explain the method under "Understand your result" and suggest related tools under "Keep going". Some tool pages show a short guide or a live preview of your input next to the form, word their progress messages a little differently and name each check's status in words ("Passed", "Review", "Needs attention" or "Information"). The fields and results are the same.

## Analysis tools

Analysis tools read the HTML a public page sends, a robots file, a sitemap or text you paste. They never run the page's scripts and never query an AI engine. Only public pages and the text you provide are analyzed.

| Tool | You enter | You get |
|---|---|---|
| AI landing page analyzer | A page URL | Checks on the main heading's offer, audience cues and action links, plus a list of the action links found |
| SEO analyzer & auditor | A page URL | Checks on the title, meta description, headings, canonical URL, image alt text, language, indexing directives and HTTPS |
| E-E-A-T checker | A page URL | Authorship, publisher, contact, policy, source and date cues for a manual trust review |
| AI crawlability checker | A page URL | Whether robots rules allow or block seven crawlers at that path (Googlebot, Bingbot, GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot), plus the page's directives |
| Sitemap checker | A sitemap URL, or a site address to try `/sitemap.xml` | Checks on structure, URLs, duplicates, hosts, dates and size, a preview of the first 50 entries and a CSV file with every entry |
| GEO audit | A page URL | Checks on direct explanation, evidence and attribution, retrievable sections, sentence load and topic grounding |
| LLM HTML visibility checker | A page URL | Whether the text is in the first HTML the page sends, its headings, landmarks, structured data and script count, and a sample of the extracted text |
| SEO title checker | A page title and an optional keyword | Checks on length, target phrase, readability and specificity |
| YouTube title SEO checker | A video title and an optional keyword | Checks on length, the target phrase, formatting and the promise to viewers |
| Keyword density checker | Your text and an optional word or phrase | Counts of words, phrases and distinct terms, how much of the target appears, and a table of the most frequent terms |
| Robots.txt checker | A page URL and, if you like, pasted robots.txt rules | Whether each of the seven crawlers may fetch that URL, the rule lines that decide it, and counts of groups, rules and declared sitemaps |
| GEO content checker | Your text and an optional keyword | Checks on structure, specificity and formatting that makes passages easy to extract |
| LLMs.txt generator | A page URL and an optional site description | An editable llms.txt draft built from the page and its links, ready to download. Nothing is published to your site |

## AI writing tools

AI writing tools turn your brief into editable drafts. Your brief is sent to an AI provider to write the result. These tools do not search the web, measure keyword volume or post anything.

Every writing tool takes these fields:

- A brief. Its label tells you what to describe.
- "Target keyword".
- "Audience (optional)".
- "Tone": "Clear and direct", "Friendly", "Expert" or "Playful".
- "Language": English.

Four tools also take a "Source page URL (optional)": Meta title generator, Meta description generator, Content outline generator and Semantic validator. For these four, enter a brief, a URL or both. In Semantic validator, the keyword field is called "Topic or query to compare against", and it is required.

Each result shows a summary and one card per draft, with "Copy text" on each card. Check the facts in a draft before you publish it. Semantic validator's button is "Review content" and LinkedIn post optimizer's is "Optimize post". Every other writing tool uses "Generate drafts".

| Tool | You get |
|---|---|
| Meta title generator | Title tag options for search, each with the angle it takes |
| Meta description generator | Meta descriptions with useful details and a next step for the reader |
| Content outline generator | Headings, the questions readers will ask and the evidence to collect |
| AI prompt generator | A reusable prompt with context, limits on the input and an answer format |
| Query fan-out analysis | Related searches the topic could break into, grouped by definitions, comparisons and practical decisions |
| AI keyword tool | Keyword ideas grouped by intent, with content formats and the reasoning behind each priority |
| LSI & related keywords generator | Related concepts, entities and questions for your topic |
| Semantic validator | Gaps and unclear passages in your draft compared with its topic |
| LinkedIn post optimizer | Rewrites with clearer hooks that keep your facts and voice |
| YouTube title generator | Title drafts across search, benefit and curiosity angles |
| YouTube SEO tags generator | Broad, specific and variant tags, plus a comma-separated line to review |
| YouTube keywords generator | Viewer questions and video angles for a shortlist |
| YouTube hashtag generator | A small hashtag set for the video's subject and format |
| YouTube description generator | A description built from your summary, links and chapter details |
| YouTube comment generator | Questions, observations and discussion openers based on what you tell it about the video |
| Facebook comment generator | A reply with tone and length alternatives |
| Reddit comment generator | A reply that follows the thread, its community rules and your facts |
| Quora answer generator | A direct answer with practical steps and notes on claims to verify |

> **Note:** The writing tools never post or send anything, and that includes the Reddit, Facebook, YouTube and Quora drafts. You copy what you want and publish it yourself.

## Live research tools

Live research tools take one snapshot of search data or AI answers at the moment you run them. Your query is sent to search or AI providers for the check. Each result says what it sampled, and anything outside the sample is unknown. All but one of these tools take a "Search market" (United States, United Kingdom, Canada or Australia) and a "Language" (English). Domain authority checker takes only a domain.

### Search and domain checks

The first five tools use the "Search live results" button.

| Tool | You enter | You get |
|---|---|---|
| Google SERP checker | A search query and, if you like, your domain | The organic results in the sample with their ranks, and whether your domain appears |
| Bing SERP checker | A search query and, if you like, your domain | The same check, on Bing |
| YouTube SERP rank checker | A search query and, if you like, a video or channel URL | The video results and any match for your video or channel |
| Reddit threads finder | A search query and, if you like, your domain | Public Reddit threads with direct links |
| AI backlink opportunity finder | A search query and, if you like, your own domain to exclude | Pages worth reviewing for coverage and outreach, each with an estimated relevance and the reason for it |
| Google index checker | A page URL | Whether that exact URL appears in a Google search ("Check search evidence") |
| Domain traffic checker | A URL on the domain | Modeled monthly organic and paid visits, and counts of the keywords the domain ranks for ("Check traffic estimates") |
| Domain authority checker | A domain URL | A backlink rank out of 1000, live backlinks, referring domains and a spam score ("Check backlink metrics") |
| Brand sentiment checker | A brand name and an optional topic | Each search snippet labeled positive, negative, mixed, neutral or unclear, with the reason ("Check brand sentiment") |

Traffic estimates are modeled from rankings. They are not your analytics. The backlink rank is the tool's own scale, not a Google score. If the index checker finds no match, the result is inconclusive. For a site you own, URL Inspection in Google Search Console gives the definitive answer.

### AI answer checks

AI citation tracker and GEO visibility checker take a "Brand name", an optional "Brand website", a "Question your buyers ask" and "AI engines": "All three engines", ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude. You press "Check AI answers", and each engine you selected answers the question once.

- AI citation tracker shows the websites the answers cite and whether your domain is one of them.
- GEO visibility checker shows how the engines answer the same buyer question and how they describe your brand.

Both results count completed answers, brand mentions and cited sources, and, when you give your website, how often the answers cite it. They show one row per engine, each full answer with its sources, and a snapshot file to download.

### Evidence tools

The six newest tools carry the New badge. Four of them ask AI engines a question and then read the pages the answers cite: AI citation gap finder, AI brand accuracy checker, AI citation content brief and Digital PR research angle finder. For these four, you pick "ChatGPT", "Gemini" or "ChatGPT and Gemini". Each finding is marked Observed, Supported, Contradicted, Unverified or Suggestion, and the JSON file you can download holds every answer, source and excerpt. The other two work from Google: Buyer-question opportunity finder starts from related search terms, and Google AI Overview gap checker reads Google's AI Overviews.

| Tool | You enter | You get |
|---|---|---|
| AI citation gap finder | Brand name, brand website, a buyer question and one or two competitors, one per line | Up to five cited pages from other sites, checked for your competitors' names and yours ("Find citation gaps") |
| AI brand accuracy checker | Brand name, an official evidence page and a question about your brand | The answers' claims about your brand, checked against your page ("Check brand claims") |
| AI citation content brief | The page to improve and the question it should answer | An editing brief that compares your page with up to three cited pages ("Build content brief") |
| Digital PR research angle finder | A research topic | Three proposed research ideas, each with the evidence gap, a plan for collecting data and publications that could use it ("Explore research angles") |
| Buyer-question opportunity finder | A product or niche | Up to 10 buyer questions grouped by buying stage, each with its source keyword, Google monthly volume and CPC ("Find buyer questions") |
| Google AI Overview gap checker | Your domain URL and up to three search queries, one per line | For each query: your organic rank, whether an AI Overview appeared, whether it cited you and the URLs it cited ("Check AI Overview gaps") |

In the buyer-question results, volume and CPC belong to the source keyword, not to the suggested question. Google search demand is not a count of AI prompts.

## Limits

- You don't need an account. Fair-use limits apply. When you reach one, the tool says "The tool request limit has been reached. Try again in N minute(s)."
- Most text boxes take up to 16,000 characters, and a counter under each one shows how many you have used. A few short boxes take less, such as the competitor list and the search queries. Web addresses take up to 2,048 characters.
- The tools can read only public HTTP or HTTPS pages. If a page responds too slowly or is too large, the tool says so and nothing is checked.
- Most tools can take up to two minutes. The six that ask AI engines for answers can take up to three: AI citation tracker, GEO visibility checker, AI citation gap finder, AI brand accuracy checker, AI citation content brief and Digital PR research angle finder. If a run goes past that, the tool says "This check took too long. Try a shorter input or run it again."
- Live research runs in English only, in the four markets listed above.

## Good to know

- A live result is a snapshot, not ongoing monitoring. The same question can get a different answer another time. To follow questions week after week, track them in a project. See [Prompts](https://www.sourcesignal.ai/docs/tracking/prompts.md).
- The AI answer tools do not know where you are. For a local question, name the city or region. A question that uses "near me" or "around me" is refused.
- Mentions and citations are counted separately. A mention is your brand named in the answer text. A citation is a source link the engine reported.
- On some pages, the SEO title checker also offers "Improve with AI" under "Try a clearer title". Pick an option and apply it, then press "Recheck applied title".
