# Organization settings

> The Organization tab in Settings holds your workspace's name, an optional Ahrefs Brand Radar token, a download of your data and the way to delete the workspace. This article also covers switching workspaces, starting another one, the Projects list and each project's details.

A workspace is your organization on sourcesignal: one plan and one bill, the projects you track (one per brand) and your team. Settings calls it the organization and the account switcher calls it an account. All three words mean the same thing.

Open the account menu at the top right and choose "Account settings": it lands on the Organization tab. Come here to rename the workspace, connect your own Ahrefs account, take a copy of your data or close the workspace. Projects are managed one level down, on the Projects list and on each project's Settings page.

## What you see

The Organization tab shows up to five cards, depending on your role:

- **Organization**: the workspace name, with "Save".
- **Plan & usage**: your plan, your "Team seats" and, when your plan caps them, "Tracked prompts". The link goes to Billing and reads "Manage plan" for owners and admins, "See plan" for members.
- **Ahrefs API token**: whether a token is configured.
- **Your data**: the "Download your data" link.
- **Danger zone**: "Delete this organization".

| What you want to do | Who can do it |
|---|---|
| Rename the workspace | Owners and admins |
| Save, replace or remove the Ahrefs API token | Owners and admins |
| Download your data | Owners and admins |
| Delete the organization | Owners |
| Edit a project's details | Anyone who can open the project |
| Archive, restore or delete a project | Owners and admins |

Roles are set on the Members tab. See [Members and roles](https://www.sourcesignal.ai/docs/account-and-billing/members-and-roles.md).

## Rename the workspace

1. Open Settings, then Organization.
2. Edit **Name**. It takes 2 to 80 characters.
3. Press "Save". You see "Organization renamed", and everyone in the workspace sees the new name.

Members see the name with the line "Only owners and admins can change this."

## Connect your own Ahrefs Brand Radar

The token is optional. One-click setup in a project's Visibility tracking section can create and manage a Brand Radar report for you without one. Add a token when your Brand Radar reports live in your own Ahrefs account and you want to browse and connect them.

1. Open Settings, then Organization, and find the "Ahrefs API token" card.
2. Paste the token into "Paste your Ahrefs API token" and press "Save". You see "Ahrefs token saved".
3. The card now reads "Token configured". The token itself is never shown again, to you or anyone else.
4. In a project's Settings, open Visibility tracking, press "Browse my reports", pick one of your reports and press "Save".

The token belongs to the whole workspace. It is used to browse your reports and run the daily imports, and only your organization can see or use it. To change it, press "Replace" and paste the new one. "Remove" deletes it and shows "Ahrefs token removed". Members see "A token is configured." or "No token configured." For how reports feed your projects, see [The answer feed and data updates](https://www.sourcesignal.ai/docs/tracking/the-answer-feed-and-data-updates.md).

## Download your data

Press "Download your data" on the "Your data" card. A zip of six spreadsheets (CSV files) downloads: projects, prompts, opportunities, contacts, sequences and messages. A README file inside says when the export was made and names any file that was cut short. Dates are in UTC.

The download stays available while an account is paused, so you can take a copy after a trial or plan has ended. See [Your data](https://www.sourcesignal.ai/docs/trust/your-data.md) for more on how your data is handled.

## Delete the organization

> **Heads up:** Deleting removes every project, prompt, import, opportunity, outreach sequence and team membership in the workspace, for every member. It cannot be undone. Download your data first if you want a copy.

1. Cancel any paid plan in Billing. While a plan is live, the delete is refused with "Cancel your plan first". A plan that is already set to cancel does not block it.
2. Open Settings, then Organization, and press "Delete this organization" in the Danger zone.
3. Type the organization's name and press "Permanently delete".
4. When it finishes, you land in another workspace you belong to, or on "Name your workspace." if none remain.

A large workspace takes a while. If you see "The delete didn't finish. Try again to pick up where it stopped.", press "Permanently delete" again and it continues from there.

## Switch between workspaces

The account switcher appears in the navigation only when you can reach more than one workspace. It is a pill naming the active workspace (on a phone, it shows an icon). Open it and pick another. The whole app switches to that workspace's projects, team and plan, and the current project goes back to that workspace's oldest active project until you pick another.

## Start another workspace

1. Choose "New organization" in the account menu, or "＋ New organization" in the switcher.
2. "Name your new workspace." opens. Type a name and press "Create workspace".
3. You continue into setup for its first project.

A new workspace has its own plan and is billed on its own, with its own projects and team. The trial comes once per person: the first workspace you created had it, so a later one starts with its trial already ended and you choose a plan in its Billing. You can own up to 5 workspaces; past that you see "Account limit reached (5 organizations per user)". See [Trial and billing](https://www.sourcesignal.ai/docs/account-and-billing/trial-and-billing.md).

If you only need another brand, add a project instead. A project shares the workspace's plan, members and mailboxes.

## The projects list

With more than one active project, the Projects list is where you land after signing in. It shows one card per project, oldest first:

- The project name, then a line with the brand name, industry and primary market.
- A "Current" pill on the project the workspace opens by default.
- "Open", "Set as current" (on any card that is not current) and "Settings".
- "Continue setup" on the newest project whose setup is not finished. It returns you to the step you left.

With exactly one active project you skip the list and land inside it. "Manage projects…" in the project switcher opens the list at any time, and "New project" at the top right starts another.

Archived projects sit under "Archived · N", each with a "Restore" button. Restoring needs owner or admin access. It counts as adding a project, so your plan needs room for it (see [Plans and limits](https://www.sourcesignal.ai/docs/account-and-billing/plans-and-limits.md)), and no active project may already have the same name.

## Project details

The first card on a project's Settings page is "Project details". Anyone who can open the project can change it:

- **Project name**: titles the project's card on the Projects list. Two active projects cannot share a name (case is ignored).
- **Brand name**: how the project appears in the project switcher and how reports recognize your brand in AI answers. Spell it the way the brand is written.
- **Industry or niche (optional)**: context for AI summaries and briefings. It does not change what is checked.
- **Target markets**: in priority order. The first country is where every prompt is checked. With United States on the list, you can also pick the states you serve. See [Markets and locations](https://www.sourcesignal.ai/docs/tracking/markets-and-locations.md).

Press "Save changes". You see "Project updated".

The brand domain is not on this card. Before tracking is live, change it in the "Your brand" card on the project's setup page. After that, use the "Brand domain" field in the Visibility tracking section of the same Settings page (the card titled "Ahrefs Brand Radar").

To take a project out of the list, owners and admins use the last section, Access and archive. "Archive project" hides it and keeps everything. "Delete permanently" asks you to type the project's name and cannot be undone.

> **Tip:** The project switcher lists projects by brand name. If a rename does not show there, change **Brand name**; the Projects list shows both.
